COVID-19 & Sandusky Farmers Market

Hello Everyone! Welcome to our new and improved website where you can find all of the up-to-date information regarding Sandusky Farmer's Market.

We are currently working with the state and our local Health Department to come up with the best plan of action to safely and most effectively open the farmer's market for the season. Tentatively, we are planning on Saturday June 6th as the opening date for the 2020 season. We will remain at our location from last year - 100 E. Washington Row in downtown Sandusky. The regulations involving COVID-19 are ever changing and we expect them to change even more as we approach opening day. Some of the precautions that we will be taking are as follows, but not limited to:

1. Designated operating hours for the elderly and immune compromised. From 8am-9:15am every Saturday until further notice only those 65 and older and those that are immune compromised will be able to attend the Sandusky Farmer's Market. From 9:30am-12noon the market will be opened up to the general public.

2. Social Distancing will be a required practice to attend the Sandusky Farmer's Market. We will have designated markings on the ground and we ask that you please be patient and aware of other's around you. Please do not come to close to anyone around you, including the vendors.

3. Vendors are being asked to wear masks and provide sanitizer at their tables to keep everyone safe. If you are able we ask that you also please wear a mask while shopping at the market. We understand that not everyone can wear a mask, so please consider other options when possible.

4. When you approach a vendor table please use the provided hand sanitizer before shopping. Only touch the produce that you intend to buy. If you touch it please buy it. The best method is to have the vendor choose and prepare items for you. This will help prevent the spread of germs to those shopping after you.

5.If you are sick or feeling under the weather please do not come to the Sandusky Farmer's Market that day. Please send someone else for you or consider using our "Vendors" tab on our website to arrange for delivery or pick up of your goods another day.

Our new website is equipped with a "Vendors" tab which provides contact information for vendors whom chose to provide their information to be contacted for ordering. If you are able, we encourage you to contact the listed vendors to arrange for pick up or delivery of goods outside of the farmers market. This option helps keep gathering numbers down on market days. Another option available to all would be to visit Vita Sandusky, located on Columbus Ave and Washington Row. They are a brand new store, bistro and coffee bar that will be offering select vendor goods through out the week for those who would like to avoid the crowd on market days.

Lastly, we appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding as we move forward. Please remember that these regulations are set by our state and are there to keep everyone safe. We have to abide by these rules in order to be open for you. Sandusky Farmer's Market loves our community and we look forward to seeing you all very soon! We are all in this together!

Thank you,

Kate Croom
